COVID-19 Action Plan

We're in this together

The world as we know it has changed drastically over the past nine weeks. From sheltering in place and minimizing contact with any and all individuals, to wearing face masks while ensuring a minimum of six-feet social distancing, we are certainly living in unprecedented times. With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us.

We are continually adapting to this new normal.

While many find themselves isolated at home during this time, there are those deemed as essential healthcare workers who must continue to work. Communication Lab is grateful to be classified as one of these essential healthcare businesses and while this remains a fluid situation, we understand that it requires thoughtful consideration in all that we do.

This does not mean that we are taking this lightly.

It means that we are respecting the need for our patients, families, and therapists to carry on and continue working together. Our number one goal remains the same, to continue to provide high-quality ABA services to all of our families. The anxiety that many are feeling over this virus is very real and we will continue to provide our patients, employees, and families with as much clarity and direction as possible in this newly defined way of living.

Communication Lab has implemented the following best practices during all in-home ABA sessions in order to protect the health and well-being of all of our therapists and families. These best practices are based on the most current recommendations from the CDC and local health officials.

Communication Lab’s general safety preventative measures include:

  • PPE (Personal Protection Equipment): providing masks to all team members who complete in-home therapy

  • Washing hands immediately upon entry of all homes with soap and water or use hand sanitizer

  • Maintaining Social Distance: all team members maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet

  • Providing current health updates for any symptoms that are present with our team members or those they live with

  • Taking a daily temperature and notifying supervisors immediately if there is a temperature over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit present (as recommended by the CDC)

  • Clean all surfaces thoroughly: During in-home therapy, the environment being used will be thoroughly wiped down and sanitized before and after each session with disinfecting products provided by Communication Lab

Safely helping the families who need our ABA services during this time is our top priority. ABA therapy requires consistency, and that is the single most important thing we can do collectively to make a positive difference for the families we work with.

Along with our safety precautions, communication with our staff and patients is also a top priority.

At Communication Lab we conduct consistent mindful check-ins with our therapists and families to share updates from the CDC and other reputable health organizations. For families who need virtual ABA therapy prior to in-home services, Communication Lab offers a telehealth option including; direct care, supervision, and caregiver coaching through HIPAA compliant video technology to ensure all standards are met to protect your privacy.

We’re dedicated to our families and employees during this time. Together, our team is strong, smart, and above all, we care! We are here to support you and your family with all your ABA needs, however, we can. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, and/or concerns.

Our team is looking forward to the time when we can all see one another in person again. Until then stay safe, happy & healthy!
